Business Services encompasses a large swath of current and potential clients for Paddock. It includes industry verticals from corporate services (i.e. middle- and back-office outsourced functions), to construction and utility services, to industrial and manufacturing services. With unique attributes that drive value in each business services vertical, it is important for clients to hire advisors who can dig into the details and understand all of the inner-workings of their businesses. Paddock helps by engaging with clients early on through strategic consulting assignments, helping companies prepare their business for sale or capital raising processes in advance. This is done by identifying and addressing potential buyer / investor diligence questions in advance of a process to ensure a smooth sale process with few surprises.

Bill Salus

Co-founder & Managing Partner
Bill has more than 30 years of experience in executive management, business development, and relationship management in the investment and financial services industry both in the U.S. and abroad. Bill is a domain and subject matter expert in mergers & acquisitions and other capital transactions. Bill consults with asset, fund, and investment servicing firms on engagements across the investment management ecosystem.

Jeff Solomon

Co-founder & Managing Partner
Jeff has more than 15 years of experience in investment banking and management consulting. In each of his prior roles, Jeff has been instrumental in driving M&A transactions to completion by providing founders and CEOs guidance in navigating the deal-making process. To date, Jeff has advised on over 40 completed M&A transactions, totaling more than $65 billion in transaction volume since 2011.

Michelle Chien

Investment Banking Associate
Before joining Paddock, Michelle held various roles in sales and trading at Citigroup. As a salesperson, Michelle helped manage client relationships within the securitized products business before moving on to trading. As a fixed-income flow trader, Michelle was responsible for best execution trades across product groups for institutional and retail clients. With a BS in Accounting from Penn State, Michelle adds transaction execution depth to Paddock’s strong M&A franchise.

Riley Monahan

Investment Banking Analyst
Before joining Paddock, Riley worked in management consulting at Deloitte. As a consultant, Riley worked in the Government and Public Services space servicing DoD agencies in a deeper understanding of their financial reports. He also supported Deloitte Catalyst, the Venture Capital arm of Deloitte where he focused on emerging hybrid businesses through accelerating innovation and growth, and creating sustainable value across industries. Riley received a BS in Accounting from Penn State.

Erin Pellegrino

Senior Advisor
Erin is a strategist, designer and registered architect with a decade of experience in the fields of design, business development and creative consulting. She currently works as the founder and principal of Matter, a design firm that solves problems that span from brand and digital experiences to the built environment. She has worked extensively in the venture and start-up space in the Northeast, with early stage companies as well as VC funds on design, visual and narrative strategy and brand development. Erin has taught widely in architecture and design fields at universities including Harvard, Cornell, Parsons, The City University of New York and the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Tom Strauss

Senior Advisor
Tom has had more than 30 years of corporate finance and M&A experience, having started his career in law practice in NYC before joined Lehman Brothers as a young associate. Subsequently, Tom was Co-Head of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group of Barclays de Zoete Wedd’s, Barclays PLC’s investment banking subsidiary. In 2006, Tom founded Strauss Capital Partners LLC, a boutique M&A firm that has advised on several high-profile domestic and cross-border transactions in such sectors as automotive, healthcare, defense and financial services.

Patrick Fraley

Managing Director
Patrick has more than 15 years of experience in investment banking advisory and M&A transaction accounting. During these roles, Patrick advised clients through the complexity of the sale of existing businesses and the acquisition of value-added platforms. Working alongside clients of a broad range of value, Patrick has guided management teams through the full M&A process from preparation to completion.
